Splash Pad Maintenance and Repair in Phoenix
A splash pad takes far less work than a pool, but it still needs a little regular care to stay clean and spraying strong, especially with Arizona's hard water and monsoon dust. You can do most of it yourself in a few minutes a week, or have us handle it.
Routine care
What splash pad upkeep involves
Water chemistry
Check chlorine and pH regularly on recirculating systems, and keep the chlorinator stocked.
Filter
Rinse or clean the cartridge as pressure rises. In dusty months that may be more often.
Drain basket and grate
Empty leaves and debris, especially after monsoon storms.
Nozzles
Clean calcium buildup so spray patterns stay strong.
Controller and activator
Make sure the timer, sensor or post activator starts and stops the water cleanly.
Seasonal
Startup in spring, freeze protection or shutdown in winter.
Pool tie-in splash pads are even simpler, because your pool equipment does the filtering and sanitizing.

Equipment
Rain Deck systems, and other brands
We build with Rain Deck equipment and know their controllers, manifolds, activators and filtration well, so we can usually diagnose a Rain Deck system quickly and get parts without guesswork. If you have another brand, text us a few photos of your equipment and we will tell you whether we can help.

Common questions
How much maintenance does a splash pad need?
Less than a pool. A recirculating system needs its chlorine and pH checked regularly, the filter and drain basket cleaned, and occasional nozzle cleaning because of Arizona's hard water. A pool tie-in system uses your pool equipment, so there is very little extra. We walk you through all of it at handoff, and we offer service plans if you would rather not do it yourself.
Do I need to winterize a splash pad in Phoenix?
Phoenix rarely freezes hard, but a few cold nights each winter can still damage exposed plumbing and features. Many owners simply run the pad less in winter and protect the equipment on freeze nights; others prefer a full shutdown and spring startup. We follow Rain Deck's winterization guidance and can handle either for you.
Do you service splash pads you did not install?
Yes, especially Rain Deck systems, since we know their equipment well. For other brands, call or text with a few photos of your equipment and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Why are my nozzles spraying weaker than they used to?
In the Phoenix area the most common causes are calcium buildup from hard water, a dirty filter or strainer basket, or a pump that is losing prime. Cleaning the filter and basket fixes many cases. If it does not, we can come out and diagnose it.
